If you are unsure about the classes you want to add, the best person to consult is your advisor.  Students without an advisor should check with their graduate program director.  In some departments, your graduate program coordinator may also be able to answer questions.  If needed, email the Registrar’s Office for additional information.  Additionally, GSG department representatives are always available to help with department-specific questions.

Incoming students often forget to ‘confirm enrollment’.  After registering for classes, students must submit proof of health insurance and pay any tuition and/or fees before enrollment for the semester can be confirmed.  Be sure to check (i) MyMichiganTech > Payments > View/Pay Student Bill or (ii) MyMichiganTech > Current Students > View and Pay Bill a few days before the enrollment deadline.

Please note that while tuition is paid for supported students, all graduate students are responsible for the Student Activity Fee and Experience Tech Fee.  Additionally, international students pay an International Surcharge.

For new international students, Life@Tech is a mandatory course to attend.  The course is a seminar series that provides acculturation information and resources to help international students to adjust to the Michigan Tech community and be successful.  The completion of this course is mandatory for all new international undergraduate, transfer, exchange, and graduate students. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.  Registered students will be added to the Canvas course during the first week of classes.  If you have questions about the Life@Tech course, please contact ips@mtu.edu.
